HermanMiller.com For a period of time from late April to mid August 2008, I was employed with Herman Miller, Inc, a Fortune 500 office furniture manufacturer operating out of Zeeland, MI. I was part of their summer undergraduate internship program and gained valuable experience interacting in the fast passed world of large, corporate business. Throughout the internship I assisted with many of the day-to-day operations consistent with content management and maintenance. I also played a pivotal role in the systems design & development phases of a large scale eMarketing Electronic Invitation System. All in all the experience was one I wont soon forget, and I am truly thankful for the opportunity. |

LumberXpress.com LumberXpress.com was the brain child of a pair of small-to-mid sized business owners operating out of Charlotte, MI. L.L. Johnson Lumber Mfg, Co.was looking to develop an initial retail web presence and enlisted the help of myself to give it a shot. The project was labeled "experimental" as it was my first interaction with any sort of web-based ecommerce solution. I developed the entire front end in HTML and then implemented a PHP, MySQL based back end to complete the site. LumberXpress.com now accounts for an appropriate share of L.L. Johnson's annual revenue. |

GDKWoodWorks.com My very first web development assignment came by way of a class in which I was enrolled at Grand Valley State University. We were encouraged to find true company for which we would then either re-design their existing web site, or design one our selves from scratch. I chose to help out an old family friend who had been performing custom woodworking services but had no true showcase space. GDKWoodWorks.com was my attempt to provide a clean, and intuitive web-base showcase. |

Responsys Reponsys is a growing electronic marketing firm that provides many eMarkeitng services. Interact, Responsys' flagship service provides the client with endless possibilities in terms of developing, and distributing vibrant, unique, and timely eMarketing campaign solutions. As a Herman Miller intern I gained valuable knowledge and experience working within the Interact System, and still to this day, carry out contacted campaigns in behalf of the Herman Miller, Inc. eMarketing Department. |

in July of 2008, the Herman Miller Marketing Department organized a Golf Outing at the local Holland Country Club in Holland, MI. As one of the many duties of my internship I was given the task of developing the electronic invite by which participants could sign up and register for the event. The resulting set of invitations, forms, and reminder emails were a true testament to the power of the Responsys system and the skill of my web development talents. |
